Dr. Ittleman has directed the division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Fletcher Allen and has served in an academic capacity as professor of surgery in the department of Surgery at the University of Vermont College of Medicine for more than two decades.

Recently appointed Associate VP for Operations, UVM Medical Group at Fletcher Allen, Dr. Ittleman's practice interests are adult coronary and valvular surgery, limited pediatric cardiac surgery, thoracic aortic aneurysm surgery and surgery for adult congenital abnormalities.

With a care philosophy that patients and their safety are sacrosanct, Dr. Ittleman manages conditions such as valvular heart diease and coronary artery disease with treatments that include aortic valve replacement and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).
